How to Disable Avast Anti-Virus
Certain software packages require that you disable your anti-virus software for the duration of the installation to prevent errors. These errors can occur because the anti-virus software might detect the changes that the software makes during the installation as "false positives" which halts the process. Disabling your Avast anti-virus does not mean you have to uninstall the software, you only need to temporarily halt the scanning process. Anti-virus programs, such as Avast, have different levels of active scanning which can be disabled individually.
