How to Disable the Registration Reminder for Wordperfect 12

By Nicole Martinez

WordPerfect can be a powerful tool for composing text and other documents. However, the program may continue to display a registration reminder even after you have registered the program. Many users find this notification to be frustrating, especially if they frequently use WordPerfect and it pops up every time. There is a solution if you use WordPerfect 12 on a Windows-based computer and want to permanently eliminate the registration reminder.

Step 1

Open the Start menu and click "Run" to open the Run dialog box. Alternatively, you can press the "Windows" key and the letter "r" on your keyboard simultaneously.

Step 2

Type "msconfig" in the Run dialog box.

Step 3

Click the "Startup" tab and search for an entry labeled "WordPerfect 12 Registration Notice " or "Corel Registration Reminder." Uncheck this entry.

Step 4

Click "Apply" and then click "Close" to make the changes to the start-up programs.

Step 5

Restart the computer at your convenience. Windows may provide a prompt that asks if you want to restart now or later. You can restart later; however, the changes will not take effect until the computer is restarted.
