How to Download Direct3D

Direct3D is a part of the Microsoft DirectX package that allows the graphics engine to render high-quality 3D graphics. Direct3D is needed for most games that require DirectX. Since Direct3D is a Microsoft package, it is only available for the Windows Operating Systems. Using Direct3D, you can not only play your favorite games, but also design your own scripts using the API.

Things You'll Need

  • Microsoft Windows 95 (or above)

Step 1

Navigate to the "Download Direct3D" website, which is listed in the "Resources" section below.

Step 2

Click the grey "Download" button in the middle of the page.

Step 3

Click "Save File" to download the file "dx90_sdk_extras_direct3d.exe." To begin the Direct3D stand-alone installation, double-click the downloaded file.
