How to Edit an AOL Profile

By Gabriele Sturmer

AOL uses a page called Lifestream to display your AOL or AOL IM profile. The site has a place to upload pictures, update your status and view your friends' updates on Facebook, Myspace, YouTube, Twitter and other social networking sites. When you first set up your profile, you have the opportunity to choose settings for your name, location, gender, age, privacy and biography. If you need to update these settings, you can edit your profile by following a few simple steps.

Step 1

Click "Sign In" on the top right corner of the AOL Lifestream website (see Resources). Enter your AOL account information in the pop-up box that appears. Click "Sign In" to log on to your profile.

Step 2

Click "Edit" under "Profile" on the right side of the page to edit your profile. Enter your name and location in the "Your Profile Info" section, or type a biography in the "About" box. Update your privacy settings in the check boxes next to "Profile."

Step 3

Click "Save" at the bottom center of the window to save your edited profile.
