How to Enable Event Viewer in Internet Explorer

By Stephen Lilley

The Microsoft Windows Event Viewer is an application that allows you to view certain actions as they happen on your computer. The Event Viewer lets you monitor what is going on in the background on your machine with certain programs, like Internet Explorer. If you want to launch an Event Viewer session for Internet Explorer you will have to do so separately from your Web browser, as each utility is its own separate program.

Step 1

Open Internet Explorer by double-clicking on its shortcut on your desktop.

Step 2

Click "Start."

Step 3

Type "eventvwr.msc," without quotation marks, into the "Search" field. A shortcut link for the file of the same name will appear on your screen.

Step 4

Click on "eventvwr.msc." This will enable the Event Viewer in Internet Explorer.
