How to Get Pictures From My Email to My Picasa Album

By Pamela Gardapee

Picasa software allows you to keep all of your photos in one place. You can import photos from your email or upload photos to send to friends. Picasa software lets you manage your photos, keep photos in separate folders or delete or move photos to a different folder. You must correctly set Picasa to transfer photos from your email to Picasa.

Step 1

Open Picasa to set up the folder manager. Click "Tools" from the Picasa menu. Click "Folder Manager." Click the folder where you want Picasa to monitor for added photos from the list of folders on the left side of the window. For instance, select "My Pictures" or "My Documents."

Step 2

Check the box next to "Scan Always," which tells Picasa to scan your hard drive all the time to find newly added photos that have compatible photo types. Click "OK."

Step 3

Open your email. Click on the "Download" icon for the photo.

Step 4

Select the location where you want to save the photo temporarily on your hard drive. For instance, select "My Pictures" if you have Picasa monitoring this folder and click "OK."

Step 5

Allow the photo to download to your hard drive. The newly added photo will be added to your Picasa software automatically.
