How to Increase Laptop Display Size

By Daniel Hatter

The display size of your laptop screen is the resolution at which information is displayed onscreen. For most laptops there are multiple display sizes available. It should be noted that the recommended display size for screens will always be the highest available. At the highest resolution your screen's picture quality will be vastly better than it would be at a lower resolution. The higher the display size, the more clear and sharp the picture quality. Knowing how to increase the display size on your laptop is vital if you want the best picture quality for your screen.

Step 1

Right-click on the desktop and press "Personalize" or "Properties" in Windows XP. In Windows Vista and Windows 7 you may also access this folder by opening the Control Panel, selecting "Appearance and Personalization" and then pressing "Personalization."

Step 2

Select "Display Settings" from the list of settings or, select the "Settings" tab in Windows XP. From here your laptop screen resolution settings may be adjusted.

Step 3

Move the drag bar in the "Resolution" section to the right to increase your resolution (display size).

Step 4

Press "Apply" and then "OK" to save your display settings.
