Meetup is a social networking service that helps to facilitate in-person meetings for groups of people with similar interests who live in the same area. There is a Meetup group for nearly everyone, from political enthusiasts to dog lovers, and users are free to join and leave groups at will. Because of this, the process of leaving a group is simple and takes only minutes.

Click on the "Account" link at the top of the page after logging in to your Meetup account. This will bring you to your account overview page.
Select "Membership & Communication" from the menu on the left side of the account overview page. You will then be taken to a list of all of the Meetup groups that you currently belong to.
Locate the name of the group you wish to leave. To the right of the group's name, click on the link that says "Leave this Meetup Group."
Type an optional note to the organizer of the group to let him know why you're leaving. If you'd rather not say anything, you can leave the message box blank. Finally, click the "Leave the Group" button at the bottom of the page.
