How to Log Out of FaceTime

By Jason Artman

FaceTime is an application for the Mac and iOS devices like the iPhone that allows you to use your Internet connection to initiate a video chat with a friend. You might enjoy using FaceTime when you are in the mood to chat, but incoming FaceTime requests can be disruptive while you are trying to work -- and you may continue to receive requests even after shutting the application down. To log out of FaceTime, change your settings in the application's Preferences menu.

Launch the FaceTime application. Click "FaceTime" at the top of the screen and select "Preferences" on the pull-down menu.

Step 2

Step 3

Click "Done."

On Your iOS Device

Step 2

Step 3

Tap "Phone."

Step 4

Tap the switch next to "FaceTime" to change the setting to "Off."
