Internet Explorer 8 is an incarnation of the most popular Web browser. It reduces the steps required to perform many tasks, and is thus more responsive, efficient and reliable. Additional privacy and security options protects your confidential information, no matter where you are on the Web, and prevents viruses from reaching your system from the Internet. It even includes a built-in Live Search engine, which was developed by Microsoft. However, you can easily change that search feature to a different one such as Google.
Click the down arrow in the Search box at the top right of the browser, and choose "Find More Search Providers." The Internet Explorer Gallery Add-Ons website appears.
Click "Google Search" to display its page. Then select "Click to Install." A dialog box appears asking you to confirm your choice.
Click "Make This My Default Search Provider," and then click the "Add" button. Google then becomes the default search engine.
