How to Make International Calls on an iPhone

The iPhone is a cellular telephone, portable media player and pocket computer sold and marketed by Apple Inc. The iPhone is a fully functional Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) compatible cellular telephone that can call any phone number, including international numbers. To make an international call from your iPhone, you'll need the complete international telephone number, including the country code and any city or local area codes.

Things You'll Need

  • iPhone

Step 1

Press the round button at the bottom of your iPhone's screen and slide your finger as instructed to unlock your iPhone.

Step 2

Press the "Telephone" icon on your iPhone's screen.

Step 3

Press the "Keypad" icon to access the iPhone's virtual dialing pad.

Step 4

From the U.S., type "011," the country code, then the complete international phone number including any city or area code.

Step 5

Press the green "Call" icon to connect and initiate your international call.

Step 6

Press the red "End" icon when you are finished with your international call

Tips & Warnings

  • Before making an international call from your iPhone, check with your cellular service provider and verify the call's cost. Most cellular service providers offer discounted international calling plans that feature lower calling rates for a monthly fee.
