AVG is a free anti-virus program that protects your computer from viruses as well as other malware. After its initial installation, the program starts automatically when your computer boots up to provide always-on protection for Web surfing, email and on- and off-line applications. AVG can also scan your computer's entire contents, either during a prescheduled scan or during a scan initiated by the user. Unfortunately for AVG users, the program provides no easy way to turn AVG off.
