How to Open Task Manager in Run Command

There are many ways to access the Task Manager in your Windows operating system. The “Run” command provides a command line option to launch the Task Manager application. The “Run” command is not available by default within the Start menu of Windows 7. Customize the Start menu appearance to gain access to the Run command for many shortcuts, including the Task Manager.

Step 1

Click the "Start" button in your Windows taskbar. Click “Control Panel” then select “Appearance and Personalization.”

Step 2

Click “Taskbar and Start Menu.” Select “Customize” on the “Start Menu” tab. Click the check box beside “Run Command,” then click “OK.”

Step 3

Click the "Start" button in your Windows task bar. Select “Run” from the right side of the menu.

Step 4

Enter “taskmgr” in the entry field and click “OK.”
