How to Print CBR Files

By Stephen Lilley

A CBR file is a type of archive used to house a digital comic book. It is a version of the RAR archive file format. A group of images are collected into a CBR file and displayed with compatible software. If you want to print selected pages or all of the pages in a CBR file, you'll need to first convert the file back into a RAR archive, and then extract the pages that you want to print within Windows.

Step 1

Right-click on your CBR file. Select the "Rename" option. Use your keyboard to change the ".CBR" at the end of the file name to ".RAR." This will change the file extension, turning your CBR archive into a regular RAR archive.

Step 2

Extract your RAR archive into a regular folder using a program, such as WinRAR, 7Zip or ExtractNow. These are all programs that are capable for extracting RAR archive files on your Windows computer. Once you have downloaded and installed the program of your choice, right-click your RAR archive and click "Extract."

Step 3

Double-click the extracted folder to open it. Each file in this folder represents one page of your CBR file.

Step 4

Right-click on the page that you want to print. If you want to print all pages, highlight all of the files in this folder before right-clicking on any of the highlighted files.

Step 5

Click "Print." In the printer window that appears, click "Print" to print all of the selected CBR pages using your printer.
