How to Print GIF Files

A GIF file is an image format that is widely used on the Internet. If you download content from the Web, you probably download a number of GIF images. Like its JPEG counterparts, GIF pictures can be used in a variety of different documents and can even be printed. Luckily, there are no special programs or software required to create a hard copy of the image.

Things You'll Need

  • Computer
  • Printer
  • GIF image

Step 1

Make sure your printer is properly connected to your computer and all the drivers are installed on your system for the printer.

Step 2

Open the GIF file you have on your computer and want to print. This is going to load a viewer of the image.

Step 3

Click the "File" tab in the upper left corner of the screen followed by "Print." If your printer is not powered on, now is the time to do it.

Step 4

Select the printer you have connected as the print source. Below this select the number of copies you want made of the GIF image.

Step 5

Click "OK" and the GIF image will print. Close out the GIF viewer once you have finished printing the image.
