How to Recover Deleted Trash Messages From Gmail

By Diana Braun

Gmail is a free online email service that offers storage of more than 7GB. New messages appear in the inbox of the email service. You can delete messages that you have already addressed or that are spam. All deleted messages are then sent to the trash folder. If necessary, you can retrieve deleted messages from the trash folder. All messages appearing in the trash folder for longer than 30 days are automatically deleted and cannot be retrieved.

Step 1

Log in to your Gmail account.

Step 2

Click "Trash" from the left navigation pane of your email account. If you do not see the label "Trash," click the "More" link in the left navigation pane. A list of recently deleted messages appears in the center pane.

Step 3

Check the box next to the message you wish to recover.

Step 4

Click the "Move To" drop-down button from the top menu and select "Inbox." Your email message has been recovered and moved to your inbox.
