The username and password securing your Netopia router is designed to keep your network secure. Your router is accessible only with the password you have set on your router. If you have modified the factory settings on your Netopia router and you have forgotten the password you set, you will need to reset the router to factory configuration in order to access the router administration panel again. Netopia provides a reset button on the router, and the reset can be completed in a few seconds.
Turn your router over so that you are looking at the underside of the device with the front of the unit facing you. The router should be plugged in and powered on during this process.
Locate the slot containing the reset button on the underside of the router. It is a small slot located on the right side, about halfway up. Insert a folded metal paperclip into the slot until you meet resistance. You will hear the router click if you have pressed the reset button properly.

Remove the paperclip and watch the LED lights on the front of the router. The lights will cycle through the boot process. When the boot process is complete, your router will be reset to the original factory settings.
Launch a web browser and navigate to your router administration panel by entering "192.168.1.254." The default username is "admin," and the default password is your router's serial number.
