By Greyson Ferguson

The iPad is a tablet computer from Apple that is simmilar to an iPod Touch, only several inches larger. When using the iPad, you have hundreds of options available to you, often making it a daunting task to locate files, music and applications on the device. Because of this, there is a scan feature built into the iPad, allowing you to instantly locate files or applications without time-consuming searches.

Step 1

Power on the iPad. Slide your finger across the unlock screen feature, located on the bottom of the screen. This brings up all of the icons and other information available on the device.

Step 2

Place your finger on the lower-left side of the display screen, then slide it across to the right end of the screen. This brings up a scan bar at the top of the screen.

Step 3

Press your finger on the scan bar to activate the keypad. Type in the desired file or application name, and all the files that match the typed in name appear on the screen.

Step 4

Push down on the matching information to load the content onto the screen.
