How to Send Music to a Friend for Free
In the digital age of computers, sharing media and files has become easier than ever. Past the days of borrowing albums or records, you can send music to your friend for free from your computer from across the city, country or world. In just seconds, you can send files to a friend's computer or cell phone, and you have the option of selecting any file from your catalog or music library.
Sending Music to a Phone
Launch your email program on your computer and select "Compose" to send an email.
Click "Add Attachment" and select a music file from your computer and click "Open." This will attach the music file to your email.
Enter the email address for your friend's cell phone number and carrier (see "References" below). You will have to use your friend's 10-digit number and the domain name for their cell phone provider.
Click "Send" to send the file to their phone for free, which they will receive through text message.
Sending Music to a Computer
Navigate to a file uploading site on your Internet browser. Such sites include Rapidshare, MegaUpload, SpeedyShare, DepositFiles, HotFile, MediaFire, ZShare and Sharebee.
Select the "Upload" tab on the file uploading site and select a file from your computer to upload, and click "Open." Allow a few minutes for the song to upload to the site, and you will be presented with a URL for the download link.
Copy down the URL and give it to your friend. You can text it to the friend, email it or simply give it to them, and they will be able to navigate to this URL and click "Download" to open and save the song.
