How to Take a Screen Shot on Safari

By KR Knowlin

Screen shots allow you to capture as an image items you are currently viewing on your desktop. You may find this feature useful if you want to take a picture of a window you have open on your screen. You can execute the screen shot feature with a keyboard shortcut command. After you capture the screen shot, your Mac will automatically save the shot as an image file on your desktop.

Step 1

Navigate to the Safari webpage you want to take a screenshot of. Leave the webpage window open on your desktop.

Step 2

Press and hold down the "Command" and "Shift" keys on your keyboard.

Step 3

Press and release the number "3" key while still holding down the other buttons. The cursor will turn into cross-hairs.

Step 4

Release the "Command" and "Shift" buttons.

Step 5

Press and release the space bar. The cursor will turn into a camera icon.

Step 6

Click the mouse. The camera will capture the Safari webpage currently open on your screen. The screen shot will automatically save to your desktop.
