How to Tell if Your Facebook Has Been Hacked
The Facebook social networking site encourages you to share personal and professional information with your network of online friends. While you can control which pieces of information you share with other Facebook users, you cannot control anything when your Facebook account has been hacked. A Facebook hacking occurs anytime someone accesses your Facebook account without your authorization. This can result in changes to your Facebook profile or even theft of your personal information. To determine if your Facebook account has been hacked, follow these steps.
Navigate to the Facebook homepage and log in to your account.
Click on your profile in the top, left-hand corner of the screen.
Scroll down your Facebook Wall to see if there are any entries posted from your profile that you do not recognize.
Click on "Info" and check that your profile information has not been altered.
Click "Account" in the top, right-hand corner of your screen.
Click "Account Settings."
Click on the "Settings" tab.
Click "Change" next to the "Account Security" option.
Check the box next to "Send me an email" next to the option labeled "Login Notifications" to have Facebook send you an email when your account is accessed from an unrecognized computer. This can clue you in to Facebook hacking if it happens in the future.
