How to Transfer Photos From iPhoto to iPhone

iPhoto is a photo-management software program that is included with the Mac OS X operating system. The iPhone is a smartphone manufactured and marketed by Apple. The iPhone features a Photos application that allows you to view and organize pictures on your iPhone. The iPhoto program is fully compatible with the Photos program on your iPhone, and you can transfer photos from iPhoto to your iPhone through the iTunes sync process.

Things You'll Need

  • iPhone data cable
  • Computer with iPhoto

Step 1

Attach the iPhone data cable to the port located at the bottom of your iPhone. Connect the other end of the data cable to an available USB port on your computer.

Step 2

Open the iTunes program on your computer.

Step 3

Select your iPhone from the list of "Devices" on the left-hand side of the iTunes window.

Step 4

Click the "Photos" tab located at the top of the iTunes window.

Step 5

Select the individual photos or photo albums you want to transfer to your iPhone.

Step 6

Click the "Sync" button.

Step 7

Wait while iTunes communicates with your iPhone and transfers the photographs. When the process is complete, iTunes will prompt you to remove the data cable from your iPhone.

Tips & Warnings

  • The photos are transferred directly to the iPhone's Photos application. You can find all transferred photos and photo albums in the Photos application.
