The Acer Aspire One is a type of laptop called a netbook. This device is much smaller than normal laptops and doesn't have a lot of computing power because Acer designed it to provide only basic computing needs, such as Internet access and document creation. The Acer Aspire One comes with two operating system choices: Linpus Linux Lite and Microsoft Windows. Both operating systems come with preloaded word processor programs that you can use to type various documents. Both programs allow you to change the document to suit your needs.
Click on the "Writer" icon (located in the orange box labeled "Work") to open the OpenOffice word processing program that comes with Linpus Linux Lite. Open the Windows word processing program by clicking on the "Start" menu on the left side of the toolbar and then clicking "Accessories" and "WordPad."
Begin typing when you see a blank page with a blinking cursor. Customize the font type, size and color, as well as the document formatting by using the items in the menu toolbars at the top of the screen in both programs.
Click "File" on the menu toolbar at the top of the screen and click "Save" to open the "Save Dialog" box. Type a name for your document and select a folder in which to save it. Click "Save" to finalize document saving. The process is the same for both programs
