How to Watch DVDs on an iPad
To use your iPad to watch a DVD, you have two main options -- a converter or an application. Deciding which of the two to use depends on the amount of time you want to spend to watch your DVD. The converter requires that you rip the DVD, convert it and then connect your iPad to the computer to view the DVD. The DVD application option allows you to stream the DVD through your wireless network.
Things You'll Need
- Converter software or application software
- Computer with wireless Internet
Choose and download converter software (see References).
Place your DVD in your computer's DVD drive.
Import the DVD if it is not done automatically.
Pick the output video format as .mp4 and choose any other applicable settings and then convert.
Connect your iPad to your computer and import your converted DVD by syncing with iTunes.

Open the .dmg file that appears.
Run the .dmg file to see a "DVD Player" icon.
