A CSV (comma separated values) file is used to quickly transfer data between databases. Let's say you received a PDF file with data in it that you will also like to put into a database. A quick way to do this is to convert the file into a CSV file. You can always retype the information into a CSV file, but that will take some time depending on how much data you have. You can have your PDF converted into a CSV file in just a few minutes.

You will see the form in the middle of the page once you pull up the website. Click the drop-down arrow to choose the file type that you want to convert the file to in step 2. Choose "csv." Enter your email address in step 3. Click "Convert" in step 4.
The website will convert the file and email it to you as a link in a few minutes. Check your email and open the email as soon as it hits your inbox. Inside the email is a link for you to download your converted file. Click on the link to download the file and save it to a location on your computer that you can easily find.
Through Microsoft Excel
Another way convert a PDF file to a CSV file is to go the long way through Excel. This procedure is optimum if you wanted to use the information in Excel anyway, if you don't have an Internet connection or if you don't trust websites that you don't know. Either way, you can still convert the file if you have Adobe Reader or Acrobat and Microsoft Excel on your computer.
Open the file in Adobe. Click "File" then "Save as Text." This will save the file as a text file that you can open in Excel. Save the text file to the location you want. Open up Microsoft Excel. Start a new workbook. Click "Data" then "Get External Data." Choose "From Text" as your data source. Browse to the text file that you just saved and click "Open." You will now go through an Import Wizard. Make sure "Delimited" is selected on the first page and click "Next." On the next page, "Tab" should be the only thing that is selected before clicking "Next." Click "Next" again and then "Finished." You will be asked what cell you want to start importing the data into. Leave it on the default.
Now, you must save the file as a CSV file. Click "File" and then "Save As." If you are using Excel 2007, you will click the "Office" button and then "Save As." In Excel 2007, choose "Other Formats." For all versions of Excel, the Save As dialog box appears. Click the drop-down arrow next to "Save as Type:". Choose "CSV Comma Delimited." Give the file a name and click "Save." You have just successfully converted a PDF file to a CSV file.
